Bucks hold off Hawks in OT

HERMON – Warren Chase scored four of his six points in the overtime and Craig Harvey sank two clinching free throws to create a four-point cushion with six seconds left in the extra period Monday night as Bucksport eked out a 73-69 Class B boys basketball victory over Hermon.

Jason Harvey had a game-high 23 points, including three in the OT, and dished out eight assists. Corey Guilford contributed 16 points and Craig Harvey finished with 15.

Chris Gray’s 19 points and 13 rebounds led Hermon. Chad Pelton tossed in 18 points and Ryan Garland had 12 more.

At Danforth, Jordan Shields paced the Southern Aroostook Warriors, scoring a game-high 32 points in their victory over East Grand.

Nate Hardy added 12 points for the Warriors of Dyer Brook.

James Godley and Jesse Bean netted 22 and 21 points, respectively, while Josh Frye added 16 points for the Vikings.

Kati Libby added eight points for Red Riots.

Melissa Overlock led Hermon with 12 points. Taren MacDonald chipped in with nine.
