Flu leads NMMC to ask visitors to restrict hours

FORT KENT — The influenza virus is active in the St. John Valley area.

The physicians and nursing staff of Northern Maine Medical Center request that those who plan to visit patients in the hospital during this time observe a voluntary restriction of visiting hours.

Those who want to visit patients are asked to limit visitors to immediate family members only. The staff requests that no children visit at this time. This is a temporary measure, and normal visiting will again be encouraged as soon as the flu outbreak subsides.

Anyone who may have questions about influenza, or whether they should visit loved ones may contact Joanne Fortin at 834-3155, Ext. 3281.
