King lifts Eagles to win

LIMESTONE – David King scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the second quarter as the Limestone boys basketball team held off Van Buren for a 60-56 victory Wednesday in high school action.

King also recorded five assists and four steals. Adam McPherson tossed in 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Eagles.

Mike Sirois led the Crusaders with 15 points. Channel Wright and Stacy Ayotte added 11 points apiece and Luc Cote chipped in with 10. Van Buren connected on five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to come back from a 13-point deficit at the end of the third quarter.

Toby Cole led George Stevens with 17 points and Zack Davies added 14. Casey Ryan and Eben Foss contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.
