Vance’s clutch hoop lifts MCI Huskies past Eagles

PITTSFIELD – Senior forward Derreck Vance drove to the basket and hit a pull-up jumper with five seconds left Friday night to lift Maine Central Institute to a 50-49 schoolboy basketball victory over Erskine Academy.

Mike Susi led the Huskies with 18 points and Ethan Ross added 14.

Jason Bartlett powered the Eagles of South China with 21 points, and Jesse Haskell contributed 16.
