MIKE FENNESSY

GORHAM – Mike Fennessy of the University of Southern Maine has been selected the Little East Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior forward from Lewiston averaged 18.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2 assists in two wins for the Huskies.

NATE FOX

ORONO – University of Maine forward Nate Fox was named the America East player of the week on Monday after leading the Black Bears to two road wins. Fox scored a season-high 29 points and made two free throws with 5.8 seconds left as the Bears edged Towson on Thursday, then scored 18 points in a win over Delaware on Saturday.

PRESQUE ISLE – Mike Libby of the University of Maine-Machias has earned recognition as the Webber Energy Maine Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior forward from Whiting scored 23 points, including five 3-pointers, in a win over Thomas.

ERIN LOVELY

BIDDEFORD – Erin Lovely of Thomas College in Waterville has been named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Rookie of the Week, sharing the honor with Kristi Royer of Bowdoin. The 5-7 freshman forward from Oxford, who also won the McDonald’s Maine Athletic Conference Women’s Player of the Week honor, averaged 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in two games for the Terriers.

KATIE NYE

PRESQUE ISLE – Katie Nye of Husson College in Bangor has been named the McDonald’s Maine Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The junior guard from Corinna scored 24 points in a win over St. Joseph’s, making five 3-pointers.

SUE PICARD

BIDDEFORD – Sue Picard of St. Joseph’s College in Standish has been chosen the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week. The 5-6 sophomore guard from Saco averaged 22.5 points in a 1-1 week for the Monks.

KRISTI ROYER

BIDDEFORD – Kristi Royer of Bowdoin College in Brunswick has been named the New England Women’s Basketball Association Division III Player of the Week and the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Rookie of the Week. The 5-9 freshman forward from Lewiston scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Hamilton.

TRAVIS SEAVER

PRESQUE ISLE – Travis Seaver of St. Joseph’s College in Standish has been selected as the Webber Energy Maine Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week. The freshman guard from Yarmouth averaged 22 points last week and hit a school-record eight 3-pointers against UMPI.
