Ellsworth dad-daughter dance to raise funds

ELLSWORTH — The fifth annual father-daughter dance is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ellsworth High School.

Net proceeds from this year’s dance will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hancock County. The past four dances have raised several thousand dollars for area organizations that focus on the needs of children in Hancock County.

Tickets must be bought before the event, which is geared for girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. The $9 tickets are on sale at Treasure Island toy store and Ruth Foster’s on Main Street in Ellsworth.

Rob Eaton and Acoustic Energy will provide the music for this year’s dance, and other businesses have agreed to donate time, materials and services.

The Xi Alpha Chi chapter of the national service sorority Beta Sigma Phi is sponsoring the dance and selling tickets.
