White sparks victory

NEWPORT – Jeff White tossed in 22 points, which put him over 1,000 points for his career to power the Nokomis Warriors to a 58-53 Class A boys basketball win over the Bangor Rams Friday night.

White also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Trenton Estes chipped in 13 points while D.J. Williams had 10 for the Warriors.

Joe Campbell led the Ram attack with 17 points and Corey Gildart added 15.

At Presque Isle, Scott Griffin paced Presque Isle passed Brewer with 30 points and nine rebounds.

Nick Casavant added 17 points for the Wildcats. Ryan Graves chipped in eight points and dished out 10 assists.

Ryan Snell led the Brewer attack with 17 points while Christian Dearborn poured in 12.

At Mars Hill Thursday night, the Pioneers’ Chad Gervais hit a free throw with six seconds remaining to lock down the Aroostook County Class D boys championship for Wisdom.

Gervais scored nine of his 22 points in the fourth quarter as Wisdom completed the comeback over homestanding Central Aroostook.

Jesse Levesque had 15 points for the Pioneers of St. Agatha, while Ryan Paradis and Craig Michaud had 11 points each.

Shane Bradstreet topped the Panthers with 18 points. Craig Allen had 15 and Justin Woodworth had 12 points.
