Blanchard powers Wildcats to overtime victory

PRESQUE ISLE – Bri Blanchard led Presque Isle with 38 points, including six 3-pointers, and 15 rebounds as the Wildcats edged Brewer 62-58 in overtime in schoolgirl basketball action Saturday.

Melissa Blackstone chipped in with nine points for the Wildcats.

For Brewer, Liz Boone netted 27 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Derek Rogerson paced Hampden with 13 points, five steals, and five rebounds. Owen Caron also scored 13 points for the Broncos.

At Bangor, Justin Libbey’s two goals led the Rams past the Blue Devils.

Craig Frank and Jeremy Karam also scored for 9-10 Bangor. Travis Brooker made 23 saves on 24 shots.

Brad McNeally scored Lewiston’s goal. Jess Belanger stopped 23 of the 27 shots he faced for 7-10-2 Lewiston.
