University of Southern Maine senior guard Julie Plant of Gorham was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division III Kodak Women’s All-America Basketball team.

Plant, who averaged 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 30 games, is among the 41 finalists after earning a spot on the All-District One team. Also named to the team was Bates’ Emily King of Lebanon, N.H.

Plant is the eighth USM player to be named to the WBCA All-District One team, which makes her eligible for the All-American team. While leading USM to a 25-5 record and a spot in the NCAA Div. III finals, Plant was named Little East Conference Player of the Year.
