RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Leadoff hitter Dan Ruggerio drove in two runs and center fielder Brendan Mahoney knocked in two more to pace the Jaspers of Manhattan College past the University of Maine in college baseball action Wednesday afternoon.
Rob Postelman rapped three hits and scored twice for the 8-8 Jaspers while Taylor Brown earned the win in relief of starter Eric Sullivan. Brown pitched three innings of two-hit, two-run ball.
The Black Bears dropped to 2-12 with the loss. They were led by second baseman Julian Bracali, who singled twice and drove in two runs. Jon Hambelton socked a homer and had two RBIs for the Bears, while Joe Drapeau collected a single and a double.
Rob Worcester (0-2) gave up six runs on nine hits and was saddled with the loss for UMaine.

At Babson Park, Fla., Webber College scored five runs in the first inning and then held off the Terriers of Waterville for the victory.
Matt Ferreira and Chad Boyd each had three singles for Thomas and Geoff Burnham doubled twice.

UMaine splits pair
At Osceola, Fla., Carrie Green spun a six-hitter to propel the University of Maine softball team to a 2-1 win over Cornell in the first of two games Wednesday afternoon. The Black Bears later dropped a 6-4 decision to Augustana College of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Green (5-2) didn’t strike out any batters but didn’t walk anyone in the win. Leigh Ann Hlywak rapped two singles and scored a run for UMaine. Karyn McMullin added a hit and drove in a run. Kelli Larson homered in the first inning for Cornell.
In the second game of the day, the Vikings rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to post the win over UMaine.
Tessa Foth drove in two runs wth a double and a homer for Augustana. Megan Faris added two hits and two runs.
Katie Hedges and Katie Churchill stroked two hits apiece for the Black Bears, who dropped to 11-7. Nicole Sawyer (1-2) was saddled with the loss in relief.

Bridgton Academy 20, MMA 9
At Castine, 10 different players scored a goal to lift Bridgton Academy past Maine Maritime Academy.
Frank Plati and Jared Greenhouse combined for seven saves for the winners.
John Macisso scored two goals and notched an assist for MMA. Obie Spear and Keith Turcotte added two goals apiece and Grant Robinson made four saves on 22 shots.
