The town of Winter Harbor spent big money having a new water well drilled, large enough to take care of the town and all its people. The well was found by my father, not the hydrologist who was hired for the job and who took full credit. My dad was never mentioned nor was he thanked or compensated in any way. His name is Theodore G. Johnson, Sr.

I think it’s time someone spoke up. My father has been dowsing ever since he was 13 years old and he is 83 now. He hasn’t missed finding water for anyone in 70 years. I’d say that his average is 100 percent.

Dad uses a crotched stick, none of the expensive stuff. He says you either got it or you haven’t. The well he found is pumping out in excess of 290 gallons per minute. Theodore G. Johnson, Jr. Winter Harbor
