BANGOR – Husson College outhit Colby College of Waterville 12-5 Tuesday afternoon, scoring seven times in the fifth inning while cruising to a 13-1 baseball victory.
Tony LaPrino hit a two-run double for the Braves. Jared Foster doubled and singled for two RBIs. Chris Pickering recorded a double and drove in two runs.
David Prinstein scored Colby’s lone run on a fielder’s choice ground ball hit by Bill Johnson. Jonathan Lord hit two singles and a double for the White Mules.

At Lewiston, Bowdoin pitcher Jared Porter shut down Bates with seven hitless innings in his first career start. Chris Davidson had three hits and two RBIs for the Polar Bears while John Perry also had three hits.
For Bates, Ben Donaldson had a an RBI single.

Monks sweep UM-Farmington
At Farmington, St. Joseph’s pitcher Sarah Webster threw a three-hitter, striking out five and walking three, to earn a 6-0 win over UM-Farmington in the first game of a double header. St. Joseph’s won the second game 5-4.
Janice DiNobile smashed a solo homer and Missy Foster rapped three singles for the Monks.
Maria Melanson, Becky Roak and Molly Leopin collected singles for the Beavers.
In the second game, the Monks struck for three runs in the first inning and held on for the win.
Missy Foster drove in three runs with a pair of singles for the Monks. Heather Skolfield added two singles.
Leopin had two hits for the Beavers.

At Waterville, Kate Magnusson faked a sacrifice and scored Marcy Wagner with a ground rule double in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Becky Rasmussen smacked a two-run double in the third inning for the White Mules. Kate Dalton and Carrie Morin each had RBIs for Colby.
Husson was able to tie up the game when Lisa Goodman scored on a bunt by T.J. Bard in the top of the seventh.

Bowdoin, Bates split
At Lewiston, Bowdoin scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to top Bates 5-2 in the first game of a doubleheader. Bates earned a 2-1 win in the nightcap.
Teresa Janisch was three for four and had an RBI for Bowdoin.
In the second game, Bates pitcher Krissie Whiting held Bowdoin to only one run. Brooke Tardiff and Shannon Browher had Bates’ two RBIs.

UMPI, Maine Maritime split
At Castine, Abbie Pickering smacked a grand slam, scored three times and stole three bases to pace the University of Maine-Presque Isle to a 20-12 win in the first game of a doubleheader. Maine Maritime earned a split with a 11-3 victory in the second game.
In the first game, Jen Carney added six RBIs on three hits for the Owls. Sam Richard scored four runs and stole four bases.
Elena Hanlon and Caitlin Carter each rapped two hits and drove in two runs for the Mariners.
In the second game, Maine Maritime broke open a 2-1 game by scoring 10 runs in the fourth inning. Carter drove in four runs and winning pitcher Tracy Forand added two hits and two RBIs for the Mariners.
Erin Soucy drove in two runs for the Owls.
