CAMDEN – Mike MacDonald allowed just one hit over six innings Thursday as Camden-Rockport opened the high school baseball season with a 5-3 victory over Erskine Academy of South China.

MacDonald struck out 11 without walking a batter. He also ignited the Windjammers’ three-run third inning with a leadoff double. Jay Seymour followed with a single to plate McDonald. Brian Fitzpatrick then singled and Will Dennen singled in Seymour and Fitzpatrick.

John Whitman had both hits for the Eagles, including two-run single in the fourth inning.
