HERMON – Mike Dube went 4-for-4 for Tuesday, tallying three doubles, a single and four RBIs as the Hermon Hawks posted a season-opening 13-10 high school baseball victory over Mount Desert Island.

Kurt Calligan added three doubles and three RBIs, while Ryan Garland hit two singles and added two RBIs.

Jared Archilles hit a two-run double while Strout added a two-run single for the Trojans.

At Ellsworth, Matt Montgomery knocked in two runs on a home run in the fifth inning in Stearns’ victory.

Jerod Wilbur stroked a double and a single with an RBI for Ellsworth. Courtney Bunker and Derek Awalt hit two singles each.

Jodi Merchant led Ellsworth with a double, a homer and two RBIs. Cassie Merchant tripled.
