The circus is coming! The circus is coming! As sure a sign of spring as the daffodils in bloom, it’s time for the annual Anah Temple Shrine Circus to arrive in Bangor and Presque Isle.
Each show begins with the grand entry introduced by Ringmaster Charlie Van Buskirk. The circus will feature Welde’s Dancing Bears, Alicia’s daring aerial act, titan of balance Manuel Gonsalves, dog acts, Svetlana and her extraordinary feats of hand balance, Grandma the Clown and friends, Ruby Rowat and her sensational swinging trapeze artistry, South America’s Flying Cortez trapeze act, Daniella’s whirlwind of hula hoops, human projectile Rebecca Schmidt, the Anah Shrine Circus elephants trained and presented by the Bill Morris Family, and more.
Show times are 4 and 8 p.m. Friday, April 28; 10 a.m., 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 29; and at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the Bangor Auditorium.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4; 3 and 7 p.m. Friday, May 5; and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Presque Isle Forum.
Tickets may be purchased at Anah Temple, 586 Main St., Bangor (942-2254), at the Bangor Auditorium box office (945-4400), or in many area stores. Advance tickets are $2.50 for children and $5 for adults. Tickets at the door are $3 for children and $6 for adults.
