Kudos to the Bangor Daily News and staff writer Dale McGarrigle for the best coverage in the state of the new exhibit “Aomori and Maine: Bridges Through Time” at the Maine State Museum (BDN, April 25). I hope it encourages everyone to visit Augusta and learn about our sister state. One point in the story needs clarification, however. Funding efforts were spearheaded by project coorindator Margaret A. Kelley of East Winthrop and Southwest Harbor, not me. Ms. Kelley was Gov. King’s cultural liaison in Japan for the first exhibit, and she has worked tirelessly to bring the return exhibit to the people of Maine. Diane Vatne Project curator Maine State Museum Augusta
