Unity Raceway and the second annual International Pro Stock Challenge series will get under way this weekend to highlight a busy schedule of stock car racing.

The traditional Coca-Cola 100 pro stock race will headline Sunday’s 2 p.m. program at Unity Raceway with the winner pocketing $2,000. There will be racing in all of Unity’s six divisions.

The IPSC begins Saturday with The Daily News 150 at Scotia Speedworld in Halifax, Nova Scotia starting at 3 p.m. (Atlantic). The series has swelled from six races last season to 12 this year. The purse money exceeds $32,000 (U.S.) and over 30 drivers from eastern Canada and New England are expected to be on hand.

Racing will also be held on Saturday at Wiscasset Raceway (2 p.m.) and Speedway 95 in Hermon (4 p.m.). Speedway 95 will be opening and will have a 50-lap NAPA Auto Parts sportsman feature.

Oxford Plains Speedway and Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough will have Sunday afternoon racing beginning at 1 and 1:35, respectively.
