BANGOR — Two of the four men accused in the brutal beating of a Bucksport man outside a Bangor pool hall last month pleaded innocent Wednesday in Penobscot County Superior Court.
Craig and Daniel Harriman, both 21 of Surry, are charged with aggravated assault in the April 8 attack that resulted in the victim being placed in a chemically induced coma for more than a week.
Matthew Harriman, the third in a set of quadruplets, and Christopher Harper, 18, of New Gloucester also face charges in the assault and are set to be arraigned this week.
All four men are free on bail.
The victim, Michael Bryant, 28, continues to recover at home.
Harper and Craig Harriman are accused of inflicting the most damage on Bryant, who reportedly told the foursome to stop hassling the bartender at Miami North on the Odlin Road.
According to witness statements, Harper kicked a kneeling and bleeding Bryant in the face as if he were “punting a soccer ball.”
Craig Harriman then reportedly stomped on the victim’s face, every bone in which was broken during the attack.
The aggravated assault charge carries with it a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
No trial date has been set.
