EAST MACHIAS – Tricia Carver struck out nine and scattered six hits to lead the Jonesport-Beals Royalettes to a 10-4 high school softball win over the Washington Academy Raiders Monday.
Carver walked four and aided her own cause with three singles.
Chelsie Carver had two singles and two RBIs for Jonesport-Beals.
Lindsay Day led the Raiders with two singles and two RBIs. Charlene Gaddis also singled twice.

At Eastport, Ashley Woodward pitched a one-hitter while striking out eight and walking one as the Narraguagus Knights of Harrington knocked off Shead.

For Shead, Sara Ricker hit a triple in the fourth inning to break up Woodward’s no-hit bid.

At Van Buren, Kristy Wright slammed a solo home run and Denise Marquis added a two-run double and single to pace the Crusaders by the Pioneers of St. Agatha.

Nina Michaud notched a one-run double for Wisdom and added three singles. Shannon Berube doubled and singled.

At Dyer Brook, Rhonda Chambers hit for the cycle, including a two-run homer and two-run triple to go with her double and single, and finished with six RBIs to pace the Warriors.
Southern Aroostook’s Erin Edkins slammed a two-run homer to highlight a 12-run first inning and also rapped two doubles and had four RBIs. Nicki Lyons added three singles.
Michelle Crook topped the Eagles with two singles and two RBIs.

At Houlton, Sarah Beasley homered and doubled twice and Danielle Hagerman tripled and singled twice to pace Houlton to its win.
Beasley and Hagerman each drove in three runs.
Valerie Lenentine tripled and singled and drove in two runs for the winners and Erica McGary singled twice and also had two RBIs.
McKenzie Boucher doubled and singled for Fort Kent and Jess Corriveau tripled and singled. Each had an RBI.

At Madawaska, the Owls put together a four-run fourth inning to take control of their game with the Tigers.

Caribou, John Bapst split
At Bangor, the John Bapst Crusaders took the first game 8-7 while Caribou earned the victory 18-10 in the second game.
In the first game, John Bapst outhit Caribou 10-3 while Kristen Legere recorded three singles, while Laura Roach added two, one was the game-winner in the seventh. Jamie Landeen, Jessica Cyr and Sabrina Butler each hit singled for Caribou.
In the second game, Butler and Ashley Monahan each hit three singles to lead Caribou. Butler tallied two RBIs while Monahan had three. Amanda Johnson hit three doubles and a single with three RBIs and Roach hit two singles and a double for the Crusaders.

At Dyer Brook, Matt Malone’s three-run homer and Nick Hersey’s RBI triple keyed a five-run first inning that carried Southern Aroostook past Limestone.
Gabe Gordon, Corey Shields, and Nate Hardy teamed up on a six-hitter.
Gordon had a triple, two singles, and an RBI to pace the Warrior attack. Hersey had a single to go with his triple, Robert Betschner singled twice and had an RBI, and Corey Shields had a solo homer.
Steve Hardwick had a two-run homer and a single for Limestone.

Ryan Maker tallied a double and two singles for Washington Academy, while Brent Colbeth added two singles. Adam Demerest hit a two-run homer for the Raiders.

At Houlton, Chad Soucy threw a three-hitter, striking out 11 and walking five, and A.J. Slavinsky drove in a pair of runs as Fort Kent rallied past Houlton and avenged a 13-4 setback earlier this season.
Fort Kent trailed 1-0 entering the sixth, but Mitch Wakem’s double, Kirk Levesque’s RBI triple, and Slavinsky’s RBI double gave the Warriors the lead for good. Slavinsky singled in a seventh-inning insurance run.
Lars O’Connell doubled for Houlton and Josh Berry pitched well in defeat, allowing six hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
