Maine Winter Sports Center in Fort Kent announced today that Vladimir Cervenka of the Czech Republic has accepted their offer for the position of head biathlon coach.

Cervenka received his masters degree from Charles University in Prague, where he majored in cross country skiing and biathlon coaching. He has coached the Czech Army Team and the University of Colorado Nordic team. He will take the position in July 2000.

MWSC is a non-profit corporation funded initially by the Libra Foundation of Portland. It has already played host to the 2000 U.S. Junior Biathlon National Championships and the North American Biathlon Championships.
