BUCKSPORT – Justin Barnes’ sacrifice fly plated Rick McHale for the winning run in the third inning as the Bucksport Golden Bucks upended the Bangor Rams 4-3 in schoolboy baseball action Saturday.
Chris McHale tied it for Class B Bucksport with a two-run double in the third. Craig Harvey and Adam Sheehan each singled twice.
Justin Libbey led Class A Bangor with an RBI single and Andy Sullivan singled twice.

Old Town sweeps Nokomis
NEWPORT – Jason Robbins gave up two hits, struck out eight and walked one as the Indians took the opening game of a doubleheader 4-0 and won the second game 8-2 in schoolboy baseball action Saturday.
The Indians have given up just 23 runs in their 14 games this season.
In the first game, Old Town’s Jason Sirois smacked a two-run triple and Randy Rand added an RBI single in the fourth inning. Jason Thibodeau doubled and recorded a sacrifice fly for the Indians, while Chris Brissette tripled. Scott DeRaps and B.J. Bowden each singled for the Warriors.
In the second game, Rand singled three times and drove in two runs for Old Town. Sirois added two singles and Thibodeau doubled. Scott Hawthorne led Nokomis with two singles and an RBI.

At Guilford, Buddy Bates ripped two grand slams in a 16-run first inning to lead the Pirates.
Piscataquis jolted three grand slams and a three-run homer in the first inning. Dennis Glynn had the third grand slam, along with two singles while Randy Burgess added a three-run homer in the first and a double. Darren Spack wacked a two-run home run and a single.
Mike Grindle singled for Penquis of Milo’s lone hit.

Caribou, Foxcroft split
At Caribou, Tristan Noyes notched the winning run in the opening game of a doubleheader when he walked, reached second on a wild pitch, stole third and scored on a wild pitch in the 10th inning for a 7-6 Vikings victory. The Ponies won the second 8-4.
In the first game, Justin Selfridge racked up six RBIs on two three-run homers and went 4-for-5 with two more singles for Caribou. Brian Bellemare led Foxcroft Academy with two two-run home runs, and Kyle Wentworth and Jason Sands each singled twice.
In the second game, Seth Gabarro hit a two-run double in the seventh to power the Ponies. Ryan Taylor added two singles and a double for two RBIs. FA’s Sands singled twice and drove in a run.

At Searsport, the Vikings outhit the Pandas 11-5 en route to the win.
Searsport’s Ben Relyea doubled and singled for three RBIs. Scott Wancus singled three times and drove in a run, and Arron Tripp hit a double and a single for one RBI.
Charlie Worster hit a solo home run for Lee in the third inning. Bruce Stevens singled twice.

Patriots sweep Royals
At Bangor, Bangor Christian earned a forfeit win in the first game of a doubleheader and won the nightcap 9-3 to complete the sweep of Jonesport-Beals.
In the first game, the teams were tied at 11-11 in the ninth inning when umpires stopped the game because of excessive heckling from Jonesport-Beals fans and awarded Bangor Christian a forfeit win.
Tyler Wilson had led the Patriots to that point with three singles. Dave Chrisos and Noah Sargent had a double and a single each while Allen Easley rapped two singles.
Alvin Beal hit four singles and Jason Beal added three singles for the Royals.
In the second game, Noah Sargent had three singles and knocked in three runs for the Patriots. Tyler Wilson contributed three singles and two RBIs while Chrisos singled twice.
