The Rev. Mark Worth, in his letter of May 30, ascribed a lot of negative things to Dr. Laura Schlessinger, among which misinterpreting the Bible is the most ludicrous for a supposed Christian to accuse her of. Whether or not one believes the Bible contains the word of God, it is a stretch to make the Bible fit the currently fashionable view of homosexuality.

In the Old Testament, the punishment for acts of homosexuality was death. The words written in Romans 2:27 do not exactly indicate that God had a change of mind: “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”

Your readers can judge for themselves whether Dr. Laura or the Rev. Worth is guilty of misinterpreting the Bible. Fred Robinson Holden
