ELLSWORTH — The Maine Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Club has planned its 79th annual convention. The meeting will be held June 2-4 at the White Birches.

BPW has 300 members, 17 local clubs and four districts. The organization works for the elevation of women in the workplace and for legislation affecting women and families.

Ellsworth City Manager Tim King and Mikki Sumpter of the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to open the convention. The group will hold election of officers, choose a legislative platform and award four scholarships at the event.
