Recent events at the Los Alamos laboratories illuminate the appalling lack of security coupled with an almost total public apathy. To add insult to injury, our government officials, including Energy Secretary Bill Richardson and President Bill Clinton, attempt to apply spin to cover their behinds.

We can reasonably assume that the data on these hard drives are now in the hands of our enemies, including some supposedly friendly nations that will pass the information on to the worst possible recipients. If this were happening in the aforementioned nations, the firing squads would be working overtime. Here no one has even been fired or resigned. Bernard Carr Orrington
