BANGOR — Helen of Troy may have had a face that launched a thousand ships, but what she didn’t have was dinner and a mask auction with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. On Sunday, June 25, at the center court of the Bangor Mall, the Friends of the Symphony will hold “Face the Music,” a dinner and auction of decorative masks designed and signed by national and local celebrities. Contributors include John Travolta, John Williams, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Gwen Verdon, Caspar Weinberger, Ricky Craven, Robert Indiana, Regis Philbin and Martha Stewart. The masks are on display at the Bangor Mall.

Tickets for the gala dinner and auction are $30 per person and may be purchased through the Bangor Symphony office. Festivities, with live music by Classical 2, begin at 6:30 p.m. Dinner, catered by Montes International, is at 7 p.m. The auction begins at 8 p.m. For reservations, call 942-5555.
