BANGOR — St. John’s Organ Society will host its first concert in a series of summer concerts at 7:30 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St. The free concert will feature a program of American music with an old-fashioned singalong.

BANGOR — The Kiwanis Club will sponsor a parade featuring World War II veterans as grand marshals. The procession will start in Brewer and end in Bangor.

6 a.m. — Pancake breakfast, adults, $3.50; children, $2.50.

10:45 a.m. — 3K family road race, Acme Road.

11 a.m. — Fourth of July parade, Acme Road.

7 p.m. — Bangor band concert, Bangor Bandstand, Main Sreet.

9:30 p.m. — Fireworks, Bangor waterfront.

BAR HARBOR — A full schedule of events is planned for the area around Mount Desert Island.

6 a.m. — Blueberry pancake breakfast, athletic field, Lower Main Street.

10 a.m. — Parade.

11 a.m. — Seafood Festival and strawberry shortcake sale, athletic field, Lower Main Street.

11 a.m. — Mighty Mark and his Music Machine, at the ballpark.

Noon — Green Mountain Railway, at the ballpark.

8 p.m. — Green Mountain Railway, at the town pier.

9 p.m. — Fireworks over Frenchman Bay, at the town pier.

BELFAST — From 12:30 p.m. to dusk, the town will be holding an old-fashioned celebration on the Steamboat Landing in the bay. Events include entertainment and a picnic. The day will close with fireworks. For more information, call 338-5900.

BROOKS — The following events will all take place July 4 at the Brooks Community Park:

8 a.m. — Foot race.

9 a.m. — Horse pulling weigh-in.

10 a.m. — Parade across town.

11 a.m. — Flag presentation.

11:15 a.m. — Horse pulling constest.

11:30 a.m. — Beano.

Noon — Chicken barbecue.

1 p.m. — Arm-wrestling.

2 p.m. — Weight lifting.

3 p.m. — Horse pulling sweepstakes.

4 p.m. — Riss Band.

6:30 p.m. — Frye Mountain Band.

8 p.m. — All-star wrestling.

10 p.m. — Fireworks.

DEXTER — Fireworks at 9 p.m. July 3.

DEER ISLE and STONINGTON — The following are the events planned for July 4:

7:30 — Walking and running race, Stonington.

9 a.m. to noon — Refreshments at The Oasis, Stonington.

9:45 a.m. — Community band, Deer Isle.

10 a.m. — Parade, Deer Isle.

7:30 a.m. — Registration for the Firecracker kids 1K race and adult 5K race, behind DeWolfe SoundVest Properties, Beechwood Street.

8:15 a.m. — Firecracker race begins.

9 a.m. — Pet show, opening of the craft tent — until 4 p.m. — behind the business block.

11 a.m. — Fourth of July Parade, Main Street.

3:30 p.m. — Mackerel fishing tournament for children ages 5-14.
