CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Massachusetts’ Karen Richardson and New Hampshire’s Louise Billy moved into a tie for first place Wednesday in the New England Women’s Golf Association Championship.

Maine golfer Abby Spector is four strokes back, tied for fou Richardson fired a 4-over par 76 and Billy shot a 78 at the Sugarloaf Golf Club. They have a two-day total of 158.

New Hampshire’s Kori Goulet fell from first place to 10th after shooting an 89. She’s nine strokes behind the leaders.

Defending champion Natalie Galligan of Massachusetts was four strokes out of first place after recording a 77. She is tied for fourth at 162 with Waterville’s Spector, who had an 80.

Massachusetts’ Margie Bowes was in fifth place after shooting an 80 for a two-round total of 163.
