ROCKLAND – Wade Oliver pitched a 13-strikeout no-hitter to pace Rockland over Waldo County 7-0 Sunday for the District 2 Little League championship for ages 11-12.

Rockland and the other District champions will begin play for the state title July 29 in Westbrook.

Both Steve McGuire and David Benner singled twice with an RBI while Ben Sturks belted a home run for Rockland.

At Knox Sunday, Kaleigh Daigneault ripped two singles for two RBIs to aid Biddeford in a win over Hampden.

Brittany Daigneault belted two singles with one RBI as Jenny Natel singled with three RBIs for Biddeford.

Ashley Gott tallied a double with an RBI for Hampden while Kate Plowman singled for an RBI.

Kelsey Flaherty belted two singles with two RBIs as Winona Smith singled twice with one RBI for South Portland.

Allie Parent tallied four singles and a double with an RBI for Camden-Rockport while Shannon Hall nailed a double and a single with two RBIs.

Both Kristin Tedford and Shannon Hall singled to pace the Camden-Rockport attack.

At Old Town Sunday, winning pitcher Erin Sherman ripped a triple and a single to lift Old Town over Saco, which was eliminated.

Old Town’s Melanie Cox and Whitney Carey each hit a double and a single. Monica Hussey chipped in with a pair of singles.

For Saco, Maria Arobatsis and Melinda Doissoneult registered a single each.

Aly Keen pounded out three singles for Auburn Suburban.
