KNOX – Jenny Nantel tossed a one-hit shutout to lead Biddeford past South Portland 10-0 to win the state Little League softball title in the ages 9-10 division Tuesday.

Nantel helped her own cause with a three-run double.

Chelsea Laperriete and Kaleigh Baigeneault hit RBI singles each and Nantel fanned six batters.

Chelsey Flaherty singled for South Portland’s lone hit.

Old Town 10, Auburn 4

At Auburn, Jamie Higgins’ two-run double and Jessica Paul’s RBI double in the second inning helped lift Old Town to the state championship.

Paul added a grand slam in the sixth inning. Sarah Metivier doubled, singled and drove in a run while striking out seven and walking one. Natasha Hussey added an RBI single.

Jen Morrisette led Auburn with a solo home run. Jen Lee hit an RBI double.
