BELLA VISTA, Ark. – Lisbon High School pitcher Jeremy Shorey was named to the National High School Baseball Coaches Association 2000 All-District 1 (New England and New York) team.
The righthanded Lisbon Falls native, who signed with the Milwaukee Brewers after being picked in the 21st round of Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft, led the Greyhounds to the playoffs this season before becoming the 621st player selected overall. Shorey was one of 17 players named to the District 1 team. The D1 player of the year was Warwick, R.I., outfielder Rocco Baldelli. The national player of the year was infielder Adrian Gonzalez of Chula Vista, Calif.
