CASCO – A concrete pen holding 14,000 brown trout at the Casco Fish Hatchery was left unplugged, killing all the fish.
A drain was unplugged yesterday to allow cleaning of the pen to take place, the employee inadvertently left the drain unplugged. The Hatchery’s alarm system that detects low water levels malfunctioned, leaving the employees no sign of the drainage.
