Fort Kent native Kathie Pooler will relate the fear she experienced when she was exposed to HIV-infected blood on tonight’s episode of “Hopkins 24/7,” which airs at 10 p.m. on ABC. Pooler, a Colby graduate, is in her third year as a resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
“Hopkins 24/7” is a six-part documentary news series filmed with hand-held cameras at the hospital, which was recently ranked the best in the nation for the 10th straight year by U.S. News & World Report.
Tonight’s episode also will document a 17-year-old boy’s race against time as he waits for a lung transplant, as well as the anticipation and nervousness felt by first-year medical students during their first few days at Johns Hopkins.
