Hall sets career scoring record for Bulldogs > Senior totals 3 goals, 50 for career

MACHIAS – Senior Micah Hall established a Machias High School career scoring record, scoring three goals Friday in the Bulldogs’ 3-0 schoolboy soccer victory over the Woodland.

Hall now has 50 goals, breaking the previous mark held by Ricky Hayward since the early 1980s.

Hall broke a scoreless tie with an unassisted goal 16:07 into the second half, then scored goals 5:20 apart later in the half with assists by Aaron Getchell and Joe Richards, respectively.

Kevin Loughlin made three saves on five shots as 7-0 Machias posted its seventh straight shutout.

Marlon Lutz made 16 saves on 26 shots for 2-5 Woodland.

Caribou 3, Hampden 0

At Caribou, Tristan Noyes scored and had an assist for the 6-4 Vikings.

Mike Hoffman scored with an assist from Matt Holabird and Tyler Giles had a goal on a Gary Shanahan assist. Nic Chasse faced 15 shots and saved seven.

Matt Goodman faced 26 shots and saved nine for 5-4 Hampden.

Sumner 2, Narraguagus 1

At East Sullivan, Jeff Malloy scored the winning goal with 23:45 remaining in the first half with the assist coming from Mike Cowperthwaite.

Will Seyffer scored the first goal with an assist from Jeff Malloy while Jim Malloy faced 14 shots and saved eight for 2-5 Sumner.

Saben Rossi scored with an assist from Zeb Strout while Eric Pelletier saved nine of the 17 shots he faced for 2-3-1 Narraguagus of Harrington.

JV: 1-1

Camden Hills 3, MCI 0

At Pittsfield, Adam Stearns scored a pair of goals and Will Dennen stopped four shots as Camden Hills improved to 6-1-1.

with its win over 4-4 Maine Central Institute.

Marshall Smith had the other goal and Tom Massie had an assist.

Shawn Bashford made four stops for 4-4 Maine Central Institute.

JV: Camden Hills 3-1

PVHS 2, Schenck 2 (2OT)

At East Millinocket, Brandon Saucier had a goal and an assist as Penobscot Valley and Schenck battled to a draw. PVHS is now 0-7-1 while Schenck is 2-6-1.

Keith Champion had the other Howler goal. Dustin Nicholson picked up an assist and Matt Rancourt made 11 saves.

Seth Johnson and Mike Hamlin had the Schenck goals with Pat Jamo notching an assist. Mike Rossignol made 12 stops.

Girls soccer

Calais 4, Woodland 2

At Calais, Morgan Drew scored two goals for 4-3-1 Blue Devils while Kari Redding scored and had an assist.

Lana Martin added an unassisted goal while Crystal Martin and Katie Welch combined for seven saves on 10 shots.

Beth Covey and Jessica Noyes each had a goal for 0-5-1 Woodland while Lauren Troiani saved 19 of the 25 shots she faced.

Lee Acad. 4, Katahdin 0

At Sherman Station, Deidra Hamm scored four goals, two of them assisted by Sam Cole, as the Pandas prevailed.

Tori Nute made eight saves on 13 shots for the 7-0-1 Pandas.

Mindy Libby made eight saves on 24 shots for Katahdin.

Camden Hills 4, MCI 0

At Camden, Karinna Russo scored an unassisted goal and had an assist for the 4-2-2 Windjammers while Addie Price scored unassisted and Laura Gross scored on a direct kick.

Amanda Thorndike added a goal while Anna Goodale and Toni-Lynn Robbins combined for three saves on four shots.

Jenn Cummings saved 18 of the 22 shots she faced for 1-6-1 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

Foxcroft Acad. 3, Central 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Dana Frasz scored two goals, both assisted by Theresa Cox, as the Ponies earned their first victory on their new field.

Gretchen Wilson scored an unassisted goal for 2-6 Foxcroft Academy. Darcy McCormick and Megan Dow combined for one save on two shots.

Jen Allen racked up 31 saves on 36 shots for 0-8 Central of Corinth.

Old Town 4, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Mallory Brown scored two goals to lead the Indians past the Hawks.

Hannah Marquis and Jessica Maurais chipped with a goal and an assist each for 6-2 Old Town. Nicole Hesseltine save five of the eight shots she faced.

Tabby Stevens made 12 saves on 17 shots for 2-6 Hermon.

Belfast 2, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Belfast, Gillian Brundage scored an unassisted goal while Desneige Hallbert scored with an assist from Rosie Hughes.

Mylie Collins faced 11 shots and saved 10 for the 4-1-2 Lions.

Catherine Slye saved 17 of the 24 shots she faced for 2-5-1 Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

JV: Belfast 2-1

Field hockey

Picataquis 4, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Alice White-Cyr, Veronica Garrett-Young, Kasey Weymouth and Aislynn Galuski each scored an unassisted goal for 4-2 Piscataquis Community of Guilford.

Caterina Riitano saved both of the two shots she faced.

Emily Goodness faced 24 shots and saved 20 for 1-3-2 Brewer.

Belfast 5, Rockland 1

At Lincolnville, Amber Billings scored two goals for 7-1 Belfast while Ashley Bryant scored a goal and had two assists.

Anne Berry, Sarah Skinner and Sara McIntire each had a goal.

While Kristina Lane and Tasha Scott and combined for seven saves on eight shots.

Lindsay Grant scored unassisted while Susan Shepard faced 16 shots and saved 11 for 2-7 Rockland.

JV: 1-1

Central 1, Orono 0 (OT)

At Corinth, Abigail Gray scored the winning goal with less than one minute remaining in the second overtime.

Katie Ahearn and Teresa Goldsmith had the assists on the goal. Cindy Dehm saved 11 of the 13 shots she faced for the 1-6 Red Devils.

Susan McLaughlin faced 24 shots and saved 23 for 3-4 Orono.
