PORTLAND – A power outage at Portland-area television stations WPXT (Channel 51) and WPME (Channel 35) knocked the scheduled live broadcast of the New York Giants-Tennessee Titans game off the Maine airwaves Sunday afternoon.

A surge caused when electrical power resumed blew some transformers at the station, effectively knocking out the station’s broadcast capability until approximately 6 p.m. Sunday.
