CASTINE – Derek Wilding set up Wels Baker’s game-winner with just 8:55 left and added an insurance goal 4:55 later to lead the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners to a 2-0 men’s soccer win over the University of Maine-Machias Clippers Monday.
MMA is now 2-5.
The Mariners’ Terry Nichols made nine saves while Tim Spry had six stops for the 1-6 Clippers.

St. Joseph’s 4, UM-Farmington 2
At Standish, Jen Marsh scored two unassisted goals to lead St. Joseph’s past the University of Maine-Farmington.
Heather O’Boyle also scored and had an assist for the 5-4 winners. Tara Gagnon added a goal and an assist while Laura Lombardi made six saves from eight shots for the Monks.
Doris Reitchel scored an unassited goal for the University of Maine at Farmington while Katie Bernier also had a goal. Fawn Albert faced 18 shots and stopped 14 for the 4-4 Beavers.
