FALMOUTH – The University of Maine men’s soccer team snapped a five-game winless streak with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the College of Holy Cross Tuesday.
For the 2-4-1 Black Bears, Rob Dow scored two goals, including the game-winner with 9:55 left in the game. After a yellow card was given to a Crusaders player, Russell Hutchison lobbed the ball from midfield to Dow, who was 25 yards out from the goal. Dow dribble in and scored from six yards out.
Chris O’Connor, who assisted on Dow’s first goal, scored the other Maine goal on a Drew Mayer assist. Goalies Mat Cosgriff and Scott Showalter combined to make six saves on 14 shots.
Holy Cross is 4-6.
So. Maine Tech 11, EMTC 0
At South Portland, J.P. Adams scored three goals and Dustin Hatch added two to lead Southern Maine Technical College past the Eagles of Eastern Maine Tech.
Eric Hall made 12 saves on 12 shots for the 8-3 Techs.
For the 0-10 Eagles, Craig Osgood saved 18 of 34 shots.
Women’s soccer

At Castine, Betsy Elmer scored two goals and assisted on another to pace the Clippers to victory.
Jamie Lundgren and Tracy Forand combined to make seven saves for Maine Maritime Academy.
Field hockey
Bowdoin 1, Southern Maine 0
At Gorham, sophomore midfielder Jackie Templeton scored on an assist from Leah McClure just 1:07 into the overtime period to give the visiting Polar Bears of Brunswick the win.
Jill McDonald saved five of six shots for the 8-1 Polar Bears.
Andrea Guerette made 14 saves on 17 shots for 7-6 University of Southern Maine.
