FARMINGTON – Kim Louten and Angie White each had a pair of goals as the No. 1 University of Maine-Farmington rolled to an 8-0 victory over No. 4 Thomas in a Maine Athletic Conference tournament semifinal Thursday in field hockey action.

The Beavers will face St. Joseph’s of Standish Sunday at 1 p.m. in Farmington for the title.

Katie Bernier, Michelle Ouellette, Sarah Dailey, and Kristie Cummings for UMF. Bernier led the Beavers with three assists and Fawn Albert made save on two shots.

Dee Kelley made 20 saves on 28 shots for the Terriers of Waterville.

St. Joseph’s 3, Husson 0

At Standish, Laura Lombardi made seven saves to post the shutout and help the No. 2 Monks advance with the win over the No. 3 Braves of Bangor.

Heather O’Boyle opened the scoring with a goal at the 18:05 mark of the first for 9-8 St. Joe’s. Tara Gagnon scored her 12th of the season, and Jen Buzzell added an unassisted goal to ice the game.

Shani Hollis made 14 saves for the 8-5 Braves.

Men’s soccer

Salem State 5, Southern Maine 1

At Gorham, Ivanilton Macedo scored a pair of goals and set up a third as the Vikings rolled.

Jean St. Cyr scored the first goal of the game for 9-7 Salem State.

Ellias Oliveria scored the other goal. Ryan Gover made one save.

Todd Dominski scored an unassisted goal for the Huskies of Gorham. Drew Mazzeo made six saves for 4-13-1 USM.
