Parenteau helps Belfast roll by Hampden 48-22 > Lions roar by Broncs for eighth win

BELFAST – Jeff Parenteau recorded 18 carries for 230 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Belfast Lions to a 48-22 high school football victory over the Hampden Academy Broncos Friday night in high school football action.

Parenteau’s rushing yardage pushed his season total to nearly 1,200 yards.

Ben Morley broke out in the fourth quarter with two touchdowns, including a 45-yard interception return for the game’s final TD.

Brian Groshon led Hampden with 107 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, and John Dickinson added 103 yards on 16 carries. Both Groshon and Dickinson also went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season.

At Old Town, Roger Cole scored the game winning touchdown for Old Town on a three yard run.

Cole also led the Indian’s defense with 20 tackles. Keenan Goslin followed up with 16 carries and 120 yards.

Brewer’s Justin Spencer broke the 1000 yard limit with his 165 yards recorded tonight on 29 carries. Spencer recorded all four of Brewer’s touchdowns.

At Pittsfield, Dan Riendeau led MCI to victory with eight carries and 150 yards.

Tom Twombly followed up with 132 yards on eight carries. Ben Hall also recorded 122 yards on six carries. MCI rushed a total of 475 yards.

Orono’s Warren Patterson rushed four yards in the fourth quarter to alleviate the scoring gap. Jason Spaulding and Lance Cowan connected for a 35-yard pass to score Orono’s final points.

John Lewis followed up with 19 carries for 76 yards, and two touchdowns.

Justin Barnes led the Bucksport defense with 17 tackles.
