PITTSFIELD – Police on Sunday were investigating a burglary at a South Main Street convenience store.
Around 5 a.m. Saturday, a passer-by noticed a broken door at a C.N. Brown convenience store and called Pittsfield police. Officer Jason Emery said someone had smashed the glass, entered the store and stolen more than $1,000 in cash and merchandise.
He declined to say more, citing the continuing investigation. Emery said he is following a couple of leads.
C.N. Brown runs the Big Apple chain of convenience stores. Emery said the Pittsfield store had been burglarized a couple of times before during the past year.
