The immediate solution to the “who won the election” dilemma seems reasonably simple. The state of Florida should be forced to reconduct its presidential election with a properly formatted ballot. The major news networks should be forced to pay a share of the cost of this. Perhaps a combined 33 to 50 percent would be fair.
Prior to 2004, the Electoral College system must be revised to accurately reflect the popular vote or be eliminated. As much as I personally oppose even more government regulation and control, a national standard for election procedures, including a standard presidential ballot, needs to be established. Wanda G.
