HOULTON – The third annual Great American Smokescream will be held 9:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Houlton Recreation Department.
The Smokescream is sponsored by STOP, or Southern Aroostook Tobacco-Free Outreach Project, and allows children and community members to come together to scream out against tobacco use.
Pupils in grades 3-4, from five school districts in the Southern Aroostook area, will attend.
There will be a kids’ carnival at this year’s event, including games with an anti-tobacco theme. Wendell Collins of the Partnership for a Tobacco-Free Maine’s media campaign will be guest speaker. The finale will be a countdown, leading the scream.
