BANGOR – At least 10 employees of Osram Sylvania will be told later this week or early next week that they may lose their jobs.
On Monday, plant manager Tom Hackett said he had to inform the company’s 144 employees that the company was evaluating the layoffs because of a 15 percent decrease in sales in recent months.
Hackett said sales generally are down this time of year, as companies reduce inventory and limit production. The sales decline, he said, should be temporary.
Osram Sylvania, which makes lead wires, is owned by Siemens. world.
