FORT FAIRFIELD – Aroostook Magazine, a monthly publication with a controlled circulation of more than 8,000 has been purchased by Eastern Publishing Co., owners of two Maine community newspapers.

Eastern Publishing Co., a subsidiary company of Henley Publishing Ltd. of New Brunswick, publishes the Fort Fairfield Review and the Katahdin Times, in Millinocket.

“Aroostook Magazine will have a completely new look,” said publisher David Henley. “We have changed the format, starting with the banner. It will be a folded tabloid with full color availability. We will retain the features readers have relied on in the past, but add others for a broader appeal. … We expect the circulation to increase because of it.”

Aroostook Magazine will hit the newsstands with its new look on Dec. 1.
