BANGOR DAILY NEWS (BANGOR, MAINE

An article published Tuesday about Pan American Airlines beginning to offer jet service on Jan. 8 between Bangor and Allentown, Pa., inaccurately reported that flight time from Bangor to Sanford, Fla., would be reduced because of better connecting flights in Allentown. In fact, the flight from Bangor International Airport to Orlando Sanford International Airport will involve only a stopover in Allentown, not a change in plane. Current Pan Am flights to Florida involve a stopover in Pittsburgh and take about five hours one way from Bangor to Sanford, Fla. The new flights through Allentown will take only four hours, because the Pan Am jets won’t have to fly as far west and because air traffic won’t be as congested in Allentown, according to Jeff Russell, marketing director at BIA.

An article on the front page of Monday’s paper should have stated that James Hicks murdered Jerilyn Towers before being arrested for the murder of his first wife. He only recently confessed to Towers’ murder.

A Maine Weekend story about the Maine Discovery Museum should have read that a $100,000 grant was given to the museum by a Maine family foundation.

Inaccurate information was provided by one of the sponsors of a health insurance forum for small businesses being held at Husson College this week. The forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Richard E. Dyke Center for Family Business at Husson.
