HAMPDEN – A sewer overflow tank under construction at the Souadabscook Stream along Route 1A should be completed by the first of the year, the public works director said Tuesday.
The project, which costs around $500,000 and was approved by the Town Council a few months ago, will capture any overflow and prevent contaminated water from entering the stream, according to Greg Nash.
Later, the water will be pumped back into the sewer system where it will flow to Bangor’s treatment plant, he said.
