FORT KENT – The town of Fort Kent is looking for a few good men and women willing to volunteer some time serving on four municipal boards.

Needed are two people to serve as alternates on the Planning Board. Pam Saucier and James Bourgoin were reappointed to three-year terms Monday night.

There also are two vacant alternate positions on the Zoning Board of Appeals. Reappointed Monday night, after serving since January without appointment, were Glenda Berube and Tom Moss.

There are two openings on the town’s Budget Committee, for terms of three years. Reappointed Monday were James Bourgoin, Peggy Moore and Gary Saucier. There may also be another opening because one member is moving out of town.

The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board has the largest number of vacancies, where eight people are needed. The nine-member panel has not been meeting, and eight terms have run out.

Three residents have thrown their hats in the ring for a vacancy on the SAD 27 board of directors. The opening was created last month with the resignation of Leroy Martin. Residents who have expressed interest are Bert Boucher, Joan Paradis and Joseph Paradis. The vacancy is in Ward 8.

Interviews for the SAD 27 vacancy will be conducted at 4 p.m. Nov. 27. A decision will be made at a town council meeting that same night.

In other business Monday night, the town council:

. Reviewed the water and wastewater monthly report.

. Approved abatements and corrections on water and wastewater billings.

. Approved a 5.8 percent bid from People’s Bank for a Tax Increment Financing package for East Main Street.

. Reviewed municipal financials for the month.

. Reviewed the general assistance report for October.
