ROCKLAND – The Knox Regional Communications Center is now in the county law enforcement center off Park Street.
With the move, all dispatching services formerly performed at the Rockland Public Safety Building have been switched to the county building. The public safety building will no longer be able to assist people 24 hours a day on a walk-in basis, county officials report.
Instead, people are asked to use a wall-mounted telephone in the lobby to the left of the service window. The telephone is connected to the communications center when the handset is picked up.
A receptionist will be on duty from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Rockland Public Safety Building to handle administrative matters.
Anyone phoning in an emergency for the Rockland police, fire and EMS services must dial 911. For nonemergencies, call 594-5656.
