Desirae Cote of Limestone has been recognized by the U.S. Border Patrol as the Houlton Sector’s 2000 employee of the year.

Cote was selected as a re- sult of her numerous contributions to the Border Patrol’s Houlton Sector. She has demonstra- ted a high level of professional- ism, dedication and commit- ment, according to the sector’s chief patrol agent, Stanley U. Spencer.

Cote is a 1998 graduate of Limestone High School and started working in the Houlton Sector in November 1998 through the “Stay in School” program, where she was employed as an office automation clerk.

She attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s business program for two years, and currently is enrolled at Husson College in Caribou, continuing her education toward a degree in business administration.
