DOVER-FOXCROFT – Staff from the Veterans Affairs Medical and Regional Office Center, Togus, will conduct an information meeting 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the American Legion Post No. 29, at 78 Park St.

Information will be provided on enrolling for VA health care, VA benefits programs and improved VA services available for Maine veterans. Counselors will remain after the meeting to assist veterans with individual concerns they might have.

VA will conduct a free health screening clinic for area veterans 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Post No. 29. The clinic will include blood pressure checks, colorectal cancer screening, glucose-cholesterol tests, nutrition screening, women’s health and flu shots, if available.

There has been a nationwide shortage of flu vaccine that may affect the availability of the shot at the clinic. Trained counselors will provide information on benefits, eligibility and enrollment for VA health care services.
