In your Nov. 10 editorial titled, “Trust in Florida,” you state that “George Bush is making a mistake in pressing ahead with Cabinet announcements” and “If Mr. Bush is ultimately declared the winner, there are better ways to begin his presidency.”
The ballots have been counted twice and twice Gov. Bush won. For the smooth transition of power to take place in January preparations must be made in advance. What better way for the governor to start his new administration than to ensure that vital positions are filled with knowledgeable people ready for the tasks that face them.
As for the confusing Palm Beach ballot, my 11-year-old daughter voted correctly for Al Gore after spending 30 seconds scanning the Bangor Daily News ballot picture. When I asked her how she found the correct hole she stated, “It’s the one with the arrow pointing from his name to the hole, daddy!”
